We all start out optimistic and full of hope for our life will work out. Alas the reality of life, jobs, difficult friendships and money worries gradually creep up on us and our expectations have crashed dramatically. However with some simple changes in attitude and behaviour you can recapture your youthful optimism.
Be Cheerful in the morning
Try and be a morning person. Your day starts off better and often helps your day develop in a good direction. Science has demonstrated that a smile increases the brain transmitters responsible for improving your mood.
Plan Your Time
put pen to paper in the am and can tick it off in the evening you'll feel a large sensation of success.|A bad day never seems to get any better. Hassles happen, things are delayed and work can easily be repeated. Without a plan the situation is difficult to respond to so spend five minutes first thing jotting down a plan of action. Include all you want to get done even simple things such as cooking and food shopping. A list filled with ticks is a real boost to your mood.}
Keep Your Mind On What You're Doing
Create your list in the morning and focus on the essential things. Sometimes it may be useful for you to picture in your imagination actually doing it and succeeding. Such as exercising or passing an exam. None of us need to visualize doing the washing! Don't lose sight of the importance of fun and relaxation in your daily activities. Combining them both will give you the best chance of succeeding each day.
Keep a sense of perspective
Events often conspire to stop you achieving what you want to do each day. You can only control yourself, other people and events are often beyond your reach. Recognise this fact and don't sweat it. Avoid the negative emotions such as frustration or irritation as they usually don't move you any further forward.
Using your goals as an inspiration you'll achieve far more on a bad day than you ever would without one.
Don't get set in your ways
Keep your mind active and working well through stimulating it with new experiences.. It is so tempting to fall into a routine and stop trying new things. Whether it's food, work, television, music, languages or holidays try to vary things and try, taste or do new things.
As the years pass you need to make more effort to maintain a positive attitude. But anyone can do it.
