Accutane was an anti-acne medication manufactured by Hoffman LaRoche until 2009. The product debuted in 1982. It was indicated for the treatment of very severe acne, but was oftentimes prescribed for acne cases of a much lesser severity. There are significant Accutane side effects, many of them having to do with disorders of the bowel. If you were given this medication without sufficient warning and have suffered some of its more unpleasant side effects, you may be able to file an Accutane lawsuit.

Filing an Accutane Crohn’s Lawsuit

Crohn’s Disease is a serious disorder that centers on the digestive tract and that also has body-wide consequences. It is among the known Accutane inflammatory bowel disease side effects. The symptoms of this disorder are very severe. They affect the entire digestive tract, from the mouth to the anus. The symptoms include painful lesions and ulcerations that can destroy the digestive tract and which may manifest on visible areas of the body. This disorder is incurable.

Accutane Ulcerative Colitis lawsuits are also not unheard of. This disorder is also extremely painful and life changing. If you’ve been treated with Accutane and suffer these disorders, you may be eligible to file a lawsuit. The other product names for Accutane include Amnesteem, Claravis, Decutan, Istane, Sotret, Ratane and Isotretinoin. All of these drugs contain the same ingredient that is associated with Accutane side effects.

Other Accutane Side Effects

This drug is also known for a host of other side effects. Some of them are deadly. They include everything from heart attacks to episodes of suicidal depression and psychosis. They also include several different birth defects. This drug is also associated with bone loss and strokes. Accutane side effects can be quite serious, as you can see. There are legal remedies for those affected by these disorders, however.

Finding Accutane Lawsuit Information

If you believe that you suffer from Accutane bowel disease, or from any of the other Accutane long-term side effects, you should contact an attorney. There are firms that handle cases such as Accutane Irritable Bowel Syndrome cases, Accutane Lawsuits for Crohn’s Disease, and similar cases. These cases oftentimes involve multidistrict litigation and class-action suits, depending upon the number of people affected and the severity of the incidents.

This drug is still prescribed for some very serious disorders. Despite the many Accutane side effects, it is used in the treatment of cancer, as it controls cell division, and it is sometimes used in the treatment of very severe disorders of the skin. If you were prescribed this drug to treat acne and weren’t fully informed about the possible dangers, you should contact an attorney. Accutane IBD cases can be very severe and can ruin your quality of life to a great degree. If you’ve been injured, contact an attorney.
