For a driver instructor, deciding on a dual control car leasing option is not as difficult as it may be for others. Due to the abuse that these types of vehicles are under, driver instructors may not want to keep their vehicle more than a year or two anyways, which makes leasing a very attractive option.

In this type of lease, there are a few factors that a person will want to check into before making a decision on which company to lease from. Make sure you are comparing equal features, as it is very easy to get distracted and not compare similar things. There should be a large selection of vehicles that you are able to get on a dual control car leasing agreement, but if the vehicle you want is not offered, it does not hurt to ask if it is one that they are able to get for you.

- How long is the lease for? These typically lease out for 12 to 18 months
- Are mechanical repairs included in the monthly rental fee?
- Are there any taxes or duties or other additional fees?
- What types of controls are installed for the driver instructor?
- A breakdown of what you are paying for and how much each factor is going to cost you?
- Will you be getting a standard or automatically transmission vehicle? What type of fuel will it take?
- What type of costs will not be included, for instance, tires?

Of course, these are not the only things to consider when you are thinking about dual control car leasing. Most places will require a deposit on your leased vehicle, and you will want to know how much this is going to be. You don't want to sign any agreement before you know what your vehicle is going to cost you on a monthly basis, and make sure you know what the mileage is on the vehicle and what your limit is, as you will be putting on a lot of mileage. Another option you may want to make sure is includes is roadside assistance if something happens and your vehicle breaks down. While you hope that never happens, if you aren't prepared, it likely will.

When your car requires maintenance, you need to take it to wherever the leasing company tells you to. Typically they will find a location near where you are operating for you to take it to. As this vehicle is likely your business and your livelihood, make sure that the lease company can offer you a loaner car for the amount of time that is will be in for repairs.

Beyond your lease, there are not a lot of expenses that you will have to be responsible for. The typical dual control car leasing agreement does not include replacement of tires, but it includes most of your general maintenance. You will still be responsible for topping up oil and brake fluid, as well as the fuel to keep your vehicle operational. It is also up to you to make sure that you have the correct insurance when you are a driver instructor which will cover you and the student driver.

When it comes to dual control car leasing, it is always best to do your homework, just as you would in any situation when you are signing a contract. Make sure to visit more than one dealership, and check out prices online so that you have an idea what to expect. These prices will also give you some room for negotiating once you are ready to sign a lease.
